  • I arrived to photography via a rather mundane route: to avoid tripping. Living in an area of NYC that was permanently surviving construction, I had to look intently at the ground so as not to stumble and fall. And that is how I started sensing the artistic potential of something as apparently dull as a pavement. The ground of NY was later followed by that of Prague, Lisbon, London, Hamburg or Split, to finally conclude in Madrid (where I took all the photos shown here). My pictures hardly aspire to anything more than to surprise. I enjoy pushing the viewers to look for clues from a hole that could pass as a crater, o a shiny blue spot surrounded by dirt. I'm still unsure of what my next project should be. But I guess that, to start with, I'll probably have to look up.
