Who created the fields, the trees and the horses? The question haunts her, trips, and is left behind on the snow-covered grass. Two cows put their heads together. With each gust of wind, she moves closer to her destination. She remembers what her Aunt Betty used to say: ’No one lasts long without water.’ As she passes the boundary post, the church bells beckon her back across the bare fields. She stays where she is. The river flows past her feet and the air floats in the river. She is surprised at her own happiness, which she has found where it was always waiting for her. Within her and in everything that passes by.
