In France since 2002. Born in 1980.
Mother: police. Father: teacher of economics.

I wanted to confront something different, myself. I chose France because it is less expensive than the US or England and it’s simpler to obtain a visa. I was attracted to the artistic and cultural aspect of the country. In China I was like a little princess, spoiled, protected. In France… I have destroyed all that… I have lost myself during two years… I’ve become an adult… You have to pay the rent, food… Studying in Paris VIII. Accommodation in France is a real problem. I’ve moved seven times in a year before I found a stable place.

After five years in France I have the impression that I could live and adapt myself to any other country. The French culture has enriched me. I have many French friends. I´m no longer afraid of change, I´ve found my natural way… I try to follow it. I would like to stay in France for the next ten years… but there is the problem of the residence permit. I love this country but it doesn´t seem to love me. I would also like to go to Canada… going back to China now would be a bit too soon.

Being Chinese is foremost being heir to more than 5000 years of history… honor is a prioritary value. We have conscience than life is short and we do everything to be rentable and productive. We don´t know how to relax, enjoy free moments… we take courses. Our value, our power and potency increase every day… it may be the change of the course of history…after more than a century of humiliations. Chinese pragmatism is very important… it may be too much. Constructing is the key word. The Chinese here want to be a bridge between Europe and China.
