Words play a double role. In some circumstances bestow reality, in other are just an escort: they just go together, being their role paradoxically irrelevant but necessary. Popular songs whose lyrics are ununderstandable provide the best example of this. They are not understood because are poorly articulated, because they are in a foreign language, or the music is too loud or the rhythm difficult to follow. But whatever the reason nobody would eliminate them, they are indispensable, for the music, they are the music.

 

 

When words confer reality, as it happens in some parcels of art, they end as the main object, not any more a simple mean. When they occupy the center place the discussion is about them and not about the object that they pretend to describe, to figure out, to analyze, to unravel, to decode. Finally it happens that the beauty is the words.
