Ana María Prelipcean

  • My name is Ana Maria Prelipcean, based in Bucharest, Romania. I’ve discovered film photography when I was studying Journalism, back in the 90’s. After a very long period of time, in 2017, I bought a digital camera and I allowed myself to jump into this passion with all my heart. I’ve been wandering the streets of Europe, ever since, chasing light and shadows, lines and contrasts. I prefer black and white, noise because they help me capture the rawness of the everyday life, that mood, that nostalgia and sadness, those emotions and surrealism of the streets. I like textures, double exposures, slow shutter speeds, all those ingredients that make a picture seem out of this world. I don’t work on long term projects, but all my short series of photos are like an “exorcism” for my fears and personal demons.
