  • After the death of her father, Leila (yes, the same Leila of Robbe Grillet, of Jacques Derrida and so many more) moved alone to a little town in the south of France… Provence is the first that comes to mind but it could have been in Languedoc, Aquitania, even in Auvergne or any other place. She lived as a recluse but she went out on her bike two or three times a week, when the weather allowed it, to visit a writer, an acquaintance of hers who lived two kilometers away. They ate something, drank wine, talked a little, played cards and said a friendly goodbye.
  • John Locke taught history of Muslim art at a British university.
