Cousin Joanna

Not a blood cousin.

She arrived to the house some time ago, when she widowed and left her home on the other side of the hills.

She offered to take care of the little twins and the garden.

She waters the plants with her tears for her death husband.

She tells the girls stories about him and how much he loved her.

Its only then that she smiles and her eyes sparkle like black stars.
